Reflection
Peer into my eyes and you'll find an abyss,
pure black with swirls of brown.
Black as charcoal,
my hair sticks out in disarray
I am not a radiant sun,
but more like the moon that hides itself,
from the spotlight of the day
I am bland, like school cafeteria macaroni,
but to some, I'm comical as Galifianikis
I paint my future,
with vibrant colors flittering,
almost flying across the dull canvas of life.
Opportunities I strive for, with each longing step,
yet I always seem to fall short.
But I pick myself up,
being the little engine that could.
I'm louder than a bullhorn, friends say.
I'm quiet as a church mouse, strangers say.
I see myself with a temper,
hurling ugly words at anyone,
who approaches.
My anger is a mask,
shielding my feelings
from harm.
I am the Grinch,
hoping the sliver of happiness
will grow,
overcoming my fury.
But no matter how mad,
bland,
comical,
loud,
or quiet I seem.
I am Me,
and she will always follow her own unique way.
pure black with swirls of brown.

Poetry Explanation
This poem is based on my many personalities. To some people, I'm funny, but to others I'm really quiet. It really expresses what I'm really like and my physical appearance, (well I don't really look like that, if I did, that would be cool.)
Poetry Literary Explanation
In this poem, I used many literary elements. I used a lot of metaphors and similes, comparing myself to other characters or objects, to explain myself in a more of a expressed way.
Metaphor- For example, I said I am the "Grinch", but I am not literally the Grinch. I am just merely tempered as the Grinch.
Simile- Also, when I said I am like "the moon that hides itself from the spotlight of the day;" I am shy like the moon. The moon hides from the radiant sun, like I hide from other people who are bolder than me.
Visual Imagery - I also used visual imagery, when I said my eyes are like an abyss with swirls of brown.
